Teledyne LeCroy recognizes the importance of the European Union's RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive legislation aimed at the reduction or removal of hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment. Teledyne LeCroy products are classified as Industrial Monitoring and Control Instruments as defined in Article 3(24) of the European Union RoHS (Recast) Directive 2011/65/EU. Teledyne LeCroy products & their associated accessories that are placed on the EU market are fully compliant with the requirements of RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, as amended by RoHS Directive 2015/863 which is in effect for Industrial Monitoring and Control Instruments as of July 22, 2021.

Teledyne LeCroy products are fully compliant with the China RoHS 1 requirements that went into effect on 1 March 2007 as well as China RoHS 2 requirements that went into effect on July 1, 2016.

China RoHS 2 requires manufacturers to restrict the use of the hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products and disclose hazardous substances contained in their products in accordance with the standards SJ/T 11364-2014 (Marking for the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Products) and GB/T 26572-2011 (Requirements on concentration limits for certain restricted substances in electrical and electronic products). All products listed in the "China RoHS compliance management catalogue" that are manufactured or imported after November 01, 2019, must comply with these Implementation Guidelines.

China RoHS 2 restricts the use of lead (Pb) and its compounds, mercury (Hg) and its compounds, cadmium (Cd) and its compounds, hexavalent chromium (Cr+6) compounds, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). China RoHS 2’s restrictions on the above six hazardous substances align with the European Union 2011/65/EU directive (EU RoHS 2).

In summary, China RoHS 2 requires the following for Teledyne LeCroy products: inclusion of an appropriate Environmental Friendly Use Period (EFUP) label, inclusion of appropriate recycling labeling on packaging materials, and providing detailed RoHS compliance information (substance disclosure table in Chinese and English languages) in our product Manuals.

Teledyne LeCroy is taking the following steps to comply with the China RoHS 2 requirements:

1. Teledyne LeCroy ensures that the China RoHS 2 compliant products are labelled according to the standards defined in SJ/T 11364-2014 and GB/T 26572-2011.
2. All the packaging materials are labelled appropriately for recycling purposes.
3. Product Labels:

   a. This label on a Teledyne LeCroy product indicates that it contains certain hazardous substances with a 30 year Environmental Effective Use Period (EFUP).

   b. This label on a Teledyne LeCroy accessory indicates that it contains certain hazardous substances with a 10 year Environmental Effective Use Period (EFUP).

4. Teledyne LeCroy provides a substance disclosure table when the product is marked with one of the above symbols. This information is included as part of the product documentation in all product shipments to China.

Teledyne LeCroy products fully comply with the applicable European Union requirements in Directives 2012/19/EU and 2006/66/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Batteries. The following symbol appears on all Teledyne LeCroy products shipped after August 13, 2005:

Many countries prohibit the disposal of waste electronic equipment in standard trash receptacles. This symbol is a reminder not to dispose of your waste electronic equipment in standard trash receptacles.
